All About Us

Welcome, and thank you for checking us out!
We're glad you're here and we know attending a new church for the first time can be intimidating. Whatever reason brought you to us, we hope you’ll take the time to get to know us and experience our worship and ministry for yourself.

Just a down the street from our present location, stands our original church. The land was purchased in 1843. When membership number outgrew the original church building, six acres of land for a new educational building were purchased in 1961. In October of 1963 the corner stone was laid and on May 17, 1964 a long line of worshipers walked from the old church building to the new educational building. Membership had increased to over 230 members and worship was expanded to two services. In 1981, as the educational building had become not large enough for the growing congregation a final decision was made to build a sanctuary and on May 2, 1982 the ground breaking ceremony was held and construction began the following day.

We are blessed with our sanctuary and fellowship space, and visitors are always welcome. Many have discovered the warmth and support of Christ's family here.

If you are looking for a church home, we hope you will consider the variety of ministries and activities we offer for you and for every member of your family. We also give back to the community through many different activities, including concentrated efforts with Bishop Elementary within the Lincoln Consolidated School District.

Come and join in the fun, as we grow in faith, service and spirit. We invite you to make Stony Creek United Methodist Church your church home.
